Accredited Post-Secondary Institutions in Alberta

If you graduated from one of the following institutions and meet the eligibility requirements, you can apply to waive the National Knowledge Exam. If your accredited program does not meet the minimum education requirement, you must also provide proof of a program which does, prior to being eligible to apply for the waiver.

  • Ambrose University - Bachelor of Business Administration Specializing in Human Resources.

    Applies to graduates from April 2018 and onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher.

  • Athabasca University - Bachelor of Human Resources in Labour Relations

    Applies to graduates with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher. Students must waive their NKE within 5 years of graduating from the program.

  • Athabasca University - Bachelor of Management or Commerce in Human Resources Management

    Applies to graduates from December 2016 and onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

  • Bow Valley College - Human Resources Diploma Program

    Applies to graduates from April 2016 onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.67 or higher. 

  • Concordia University of Edmonton - Bachelor of Management in Human Resources

    Applies to graduates from December 2017 and onward with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

  • Keyano College - Business Administration Diploma in Human Resources

    Applies to graduates with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher. Students must waive their NKE within 5 years of graduating from the program.

    Applies to graduates with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher. Students must waive the NKE within 5 years of graduating from the program.

    Applies to graduates from January 2012 and onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

    Applies to graduates from April 2012 and onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

  • Norquest College - Business Administration Diploma with Human Resources Specialization

    Applies to graduates from May 2018 onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

  • Northwestern Polytechnic - Bachelor of Business Administration with Human Resources Emphasis

    Applies to graduates from June 2023 onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

  • Red Deer Polytechnic - Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management

    Applies to graduates from August 2018 and onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

  • SAIT - Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management

    Applies to graduates from April 2018 and onward, with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

  • University of Alberta, Alberta School of Business - Bachelor of Commerce with an HR Management concentration

    Applies to graduates from April 2012 and onward, who have completed the required courses with an overall GPA average of 2.7 or higher. View the required courses here.

    Applies to graduates from January 2013 and onward, who have completed the required courses with an overall GPA average of 2.7 or higher. View the required courses here.
